NSW Waratahs Community Program

The NSW Waratahs have a longstanding tradition of supporting charities and community groups across the state, providing support and fundraising opportunities wherever possible.

Charity and community support occurs in a number of ways:

  • with our official matchday charity partners, selected on a bi-annual basis and with a focus on matchday activations.
  • Read more about the NSW Waratahs Charity Partnersthrough formal charity partners selected for their contribution to the lives of local and state-wide NSW communities, with a specific focus on health, wellbeing and young people
  • by supporting community rugby programs and clubs across the state, in conjunction with NSW Rugby.
  • In addition, each year Waratahs Rugby provides more than $1,000,000 to NSW Rugby Union to support the development of the community game via initiatives to grow support of the great game of rugby in NSW, including our annual Schools March Past, our Junior Clubs March Past and our ongoing membership program, the Free Junior Season Membership.
All these avenues of support include the donation of resources and time (appearances by coaches, players and our mascot, Tah Man) as well as through monetary-value items including memorabilia.
NSW Waratahs also receives a large number of additional requests from charities and from the rugby community. We strive to accommodate as many requests as possible, however, please note that requests received are not always able to be fulfilled. Please visit our charity requests page for more information on eligibility and how to make a request.
During the 2014 and 2015 seasons NSW Waratahs contributed more than 2,000 hours to appearances by the football team. The personal commitment of our NSW Waratahs players to supporting those less fortunate also sees many of the players support other charities and their own individual causes.
