NSW Waratahs and Wallabies halfback Jake Gordon, has signed on for another two years, taking him through until the end of 2021.

The 25-year-old who hails from Canterbury Juniors is a product of the NSW Rugby pathway, playing his Club rugby with the prestigious Sydney University.

Making his Super Rugby debut in 2017 Gordon was called into the Wallaby squad for the June internationals going on to make his Australian team debut in 2018.

Now with 41 NSW Waratahs caps to his name, Jake is looking forward to the next chapter with his team mates.

“It feels great to be re-signing with the NSW Waratahs and Australian Rugby Union. I’m loving my time here at the Waratahs and love the direction the team is heading.

“Growing up in New South Wales it’s every junior rugby player’s dream to be playing for the Waratahs, to be living that dream is awesome,” he said.

Reflecting on the 2019 Super Rugby season, Gordon said the squad has shown what it can deliver when they’re at their best but consistency will be key.

“We’ve shown that on our day we can beat any team in this competition. It’s just about being consistent each week for us that the moment,” he said.

NSW Waratahs Head Coach, Daryl Gibson, said Jake was asset to the squad and was pleased he’d be staying on.

“It’s great to have Jake staying on board with the NSW Waratahs. He forms an important part of the spine of our team for the next two years.

“I look forward to seeing him take the team forward and contribute to the leadership of the team.

“Jake has a strong work ethic and always puts in the hard work. Since he made his debut for the Waratahs in 2017 we’ve seen how far his rugby has come and I see him getting even better in the years to come,” said Gibson.
