NSW Rugby are proud to announce a new partnership with XBlades, signing a three-year agreement with the Australian-owned apparel provider.

Specialising in fit-for-purpose, high performance footwear & apparel, XBlades will provide teamwear for the NSW Waratahs Super Rugby, Super W and Academy teams.

In addition, they will also supply uniforms for ‘Gen Blue’ junior teams and NSW Rugby referees.

Initially establishing themselves as a footwear provider in the early 90s, XBlades has continued to evolve as a sportswear company and today provides apparel for the Cronulla Sharks and St George Illawarra Dragons in the NRL, and the Gold Coast Suns, St Kilda and GWS Giants in the AFL.

NSW Rugby CEO, Andrew Hore said he was looking forward to seeing XBlades involvement right across NSW Rugby.

“XBlades have got an excellent reputation as an industry-leading apparel provider and we’re really pleased to have them on board for the next three years,” Hore said.

“They’ve got great experience in dealing with elite sport, developing products to aid performance at the highest level but are also really passionate about working with rugby at the grassroots.

“They’re a young, popular Australian brand with a diverse range of products that will definitely appeal to players throughout schools and clubs across the state.

“XBlades share our vision for the growth and development of rugby here in New South Wales and I’m excited to see the quality and design of teamwear and uniforms across our organisation in the coming years.”

XBlades CEO, Leighton Richards said that being involved with NSW Rugby as a whole was an exciting prospect.

“The NSW Waratahs are rugby leaders on a global stage and a brand we’re proud to be involved with,” Richards said.

“This partnership extends well beyond Vodafone Super Rugby and we’re looking forward to working across all levels of rugby in New South Wales.”

Richards added that the team at XBlades is already busily preparing apparel for the team’s 2020 campaign.

“Through years of research and development we understand the rigours of elite sport, and the important role apparel plays in driving performance,” Richards added.

“We’re in the process of trialling a new, state-of-the-art fabric and will be working closely with the players and coaching staff to ensure their XBlades gear meets the demands of the professional game.”

The new range of apparel for the NSW Waratahs 2020 Vodafone Super Rugby season will be officially launched in the coming months.
