Ned Hanigan caught the eye of the national selectors in 2017 after a steady performance for the NSW Waratahs but unfortunately his Spring Tour was cut short because of injury.
Born in Dubbo, Hanigan left his nearby hometown of Coonamble in central west NSW when he was 12 to attend Sydney’ St. Joseph’s College having never played rugby in his life. It was there that his love for the game started and his talent soon became apparent.
He was picked for the Australian Schoolboys side for the 2013 Grand Slam European tour. He went on to play in Randwick’s Premiership-winning Colts side and NSW Under 20s in 2014.
For your information he also worked for Gai Waterhouse as a stable hand and handler for her horses.
