After representing Queensland Country from 2015-16, the backrower earned himself the captaincy of an Australian U20’s side that defeated New Zealand at the 2016 Oceania U20’s Championships on the Gold Coast.

Jones earned his first cap for NSW in 2017 against the Lions in Johannesburg, also appearing on the bench against the Sharks the following week in Durban.

Later that year, Jones became a key player in the Warringah Rats Premier Grade side that claimed the Shute Shield for the first time in 12 years.

Maclean also represented the NSW Country Eagles capping off a very successful 2017 for the young backrower.
